My name is Belinda and I’m from Scarborough. I’ve always been interested in writing and when it came time to choose programs for university, I thought perhaps journalism was my calling. I love gaining insight into issues and writing fairly about them.
When I’m not writing articles, my favourite books to read are The Catcher in the Rye and The Rape of Nanking. I procrastinate often by checking Facebook and Twitter obsessively. Either that or YouTube videos. I live by the quote “pro-diversity, f*ck bigotry.”
After graduation I’d like to take a break and travel the world – East Asia in particular. My dream life would be to travel with a martini in one hand, a phone in another (in case 2Pac is resurrected from the dead and calls me for a dinner date).
My favourite j-school moment thus far was spending every Friday morning with KP, learning about media law. Or not. Perhaps it’s when I had a 3-hour breakfast with an employee of Venus Envy. I’ve learned that deadlines are deadlines. An assignment sent one minute after it’s due is an automatic F. My dream job would be to work at the Toronto Star.
